Feature Movie Friday

I know this blog says “personal style blog,” but there’s so much more to my life than what I wear every day.  I’m new at this blogging thing, so I think that displaying some of my interests will help you understand my madness more.  One thing that I love beside fashion is movies.  FUNNY movies.  Well, the majority of my DVDs and Netflix Queue are filled with comedies, but there are other genres that I love as well.  So, what am I getting to?   Every Friday, I intend on writing a post about a movie I love.  Why am I doing this?  There are many movies that I may have never watched if I wasn’t something I read about from a blogger I loved.  I don’t intend for you to all run out rushing to see one of my listed flicks, but some of you may want to on boring Friday night!  We all have nights that we don’t want to go out to the bar and just vegetate around the television!  I will provide a clip from each movie, or a trailer, and a Netflix link if applicable J

For the first of my Feature Movie Friday movies, I have to throw out to you guys my ALL TIME FAVCaddyshack.  I dieee.  Best movie ever.  Best one-liners ever.  Best country club wardrobe ever (see, there is fashion).  I could go on for days.  Or, I could write word-for-word the script for you because I know it that well.  I have three copies of the DVD.  It’s one of boyfriend’s favorite movies too.  (He’s an avid golfer and avid pain-in-the-ass).  We recite lines from it like it’s our job.

The Trailer:

What It’s About:

All hell breaks loose at an exclusive golf club when a rich land developer (Rodney Dangerfield) wants to convert the swanky country club into a condo community and a psychotic greenskeeper (Bill Murray) launches an all-out war against a relentless gopher.  Chevy Chase co-stars as a wry, well-heeled slacker who applies Zen philosophy to his golf game, while Ted Knight (as a disgruntled club bigwig) plays the straight man.

Personally, I think that both Ted Knight and Rodney Dangerfield make the movie.  They showcase some of their best work here.  Caddyshack is king of the one-liners.  Head over to Netflix and watch it now!  Leave a comment below if you are a fan of Caddyshack or leave me comment telling me one of your favorite movies!  I’m always looking for a new gem.

things i love.

One of the things that I find so useful from other blogs are the reviews of items bloggers' have and/or use.  I kept reading about this awesome Urban Decay Naked Palette on so many bloggers' sites.  I was tempted... oh how I was tempted. (Note: It doesn't take much to tempt me into buying something!)  I searched high and low at all the local Sephora's and online.  N-O-T-H-I-N-G! It was sold out everywhere for what seemed like a year. Low and behold, one day in February, I happened to walk through a Sephora inside a JcPenney and there it was… one left. I snatched it up and I haven't looked back since.  I have used this baby daily since I purchased it.  Let’s just say, I dieeeee.

What it is:

It's a universally flattering palette that features twelve neutral shades.  I was one of the lucky ones that got to purchase the first edition that came with double-ended eyeliner.  The new, second edition comes with an eye shadow brush. I can't attest to how well the eye shadow brush works, but the eyeliners are ah-may-zing (a la Rachel Zoe).  The palette also comes with a small bottle of their award winning Primer Potion.  Let me just say… I LOVEEEE this stuff.  Hey, I’m not going to lie, some nights are a little rough (if you catch my drift) and I forget to take my makeup off.  I wake up the next morning, and what’s this??  Eye shadow still in the same shade I applied it.  Once again, ah-may-zing.

For the record, I have deep set dark brown eyes, and these shadows look as lovely on my toe-headed blue eyed sister. I have never been one for eye shadows due to my deep set eyes, but this palette has changed my outlook on eye makeup. The shades all blend so well together. You don't, by any means, need to be a makeup expert to appreciate the versatility of this palette.  I highly recommend this to any, and, everyone!  So, if you happen to see this while it is in stock, snatch it up!
